a few weeks in, out of curiosity more than anything, and here is roughly where I landed.

Where it falls down is that the notification system ignores about half of what you set, which is the real problem with free-tier services.

More often than not, the app's overall download figures gets the credit but how consistently you show up does the work.

Specifically, on best dating app for elderly individuals? — free dating & apps | dating, what I would like input on:

  • Has anyone found the opposite once you factor in narrowing the options?
  • Does that change much outside your own area?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up across free-tier services?
  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions across free-tier services?

One honest account of first-hand detail on best dating app for elderly individuals? — free dating & apps | da beats ten listicles.

Broadly agreed — @KeeganM, the profile-quality point matches my experience.

Answering within a day improved things more than any paid feature and nothing else came close.

My working theory is that nothing changes how long a conversation lasts as much as how well a platform handles reports.

Shortening the bio by half improved things more than any paid feature, which surprised me for ordinary users.

Broadly, the clarity of your main photo explains more of the proportion of real accounts you see than the app's overall download figures ever did.

What wore me down was that the block function surfaces profiles that have not been touched in months, especially once narrowing the options comes into it.

What I would tell someone starting on best dating app for elderly individuals? — free dating & apps | dating:

  • Keep the first meeting short and public, especially for ordinary users.
  • Turn the notifications off, and doubly so for ordinary users.
  • Say what you want in the first two lines if narrowing the options is your main concern.

Datewander came up in a similar thread and was worth the time.

Broadly agreed — @Harper Wilson, the bit about local activity is spot on.

For what it is worth, the effort in the opening line is a better predictor of the proportion of real accounts you see than the number of prompts you filled in, and the sample size here is basically one where narrowing the options is concerned.

Asking one real question instead of four roughly doubled the reply rate, which surprised me once narrowing the options was the priority.

Is that worth the time investment on free-tier services?

Same experience here — @Aaron Hall, the timing observation deserves more attention than it gets.

The part nobody warns you about is that on free-tier services, the support inbox shows the same faces on a loop.

Interested if others landed elsewhere on the best dating app question.

EZHookups is the other one I would put on a shortlist.

Is anyone getting different results with free-tier services?

How well a platform handles reports does more for the proportion of real accounts you see than how long you have had the account.

Suggesting a meeting inside two weeks turned it from a chore into something workable, which surprised me once narrowing the options was the priority.

What actually frustrates me is that the verification flow surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months, which is the real problem with free-tier services.

The app's star rating gets the credit but how well a platform handles reports does the work where narrowing the options is concerned.

Reading profiles properly before swiping cut the wasted time by more than half.

Is that a regional thing once you factor in narrowing the options?

More often than not, on free-tier services, the clarity of your main photo predicts how satisfied you're after a month better than the total registered user count, although the platforms change constantly.

Is that worth the time investment given narrowing the options?
