Been chewing on dating app with highest success rate for long-term love? — free dating for a solid three months because a friend talked me into it, and most of what I had read didn't hold up.

What wore me down was that for the general run of people, the distance filter buries you the moment you stop checking daily.

The pattern I keep seeing is that the price of the subscription gets the credit but whether the photos look like the same person does the work.

Any recent, first-hand input on dating app with highest success rate for long-term love? — free dating appreciated.

Something worth knowing: how consistently you show up predicts how long a conversation lasts better than the boost you paid for for the general run of people where the which-one question is concerned.

For the typical user, how recently a profile was active tends to decide the odds of a second date, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule on commitment-oriented services.

Dropping the filters got three actual meetings out of six weeks, which surprised me for the general run of people.

Similar story on my end — @RyanB, the argument about verification held up in my case too.

The thing I didn't expect was that the account activity indicator buries you the moment you stop checking daily, which is the real problem with commitment-oriented services.

Putting one specific interest in the bio turned it from a chore into something workable and nothing else came close once the which-one question was the priority.

Has anyone compared the two directly for the typical user?

My sticking point is that the block function seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking, especially once the which-one question comes into it.

The amount of detail in a bio is a better predictor of how many replies you get in a week than the marketing on the homepage on commitment-oriented services.

I'd push back a little. @EllieE, the paywall comment may have been better luck than most get.

My sticking point is that the recommendation engine seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking.

Broadly, when the which-one question is the issue, how often you open the app matters more than the price of the subscription in the dating app with highest success rate for long-term love? — free dating context.

Short version for the general run of people:

  • Move to a voice or video call early, especially for the general run of people.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, particularly on commitment-oriented services.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, because the cost of getting it wrong is high and the cost of getting it right is nothing.
  • Set a daily time limit — everything downstream depends on it.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, and doubly so for the general run of people.

That isn't how it went for me. @RyanB, the point about the which-one question is closer to the opposite in my experience.

Shortening the bio by half produced better matches within about ten days on commitment-oriented services.

The gap between how well a platform handles reports and the marketing on the homepage is where how satisfied you're after a month is actually decided, though it varies enormously by city for the general run of people.

Is there a way to check before signing up for the general run of people?

Datescout is the other one I would put on a shortlist.

Saying plainly what I wasn't after roughly doubled the reply rate, which surprised me.

Still working it out especially for the general run of people.
