Posting this after most of this year on best dating apps over 60? — niche & community dating | datingfly commu — my view has shifted twice since.

What wore me down was that the notification system collapses once you move outside a major city, which is the real problem with app-based platforms.

Direct experience of | datingfly commu is what I'm after.

Seconding this — @KelseyA, the bit about local activity matches my experience.

In practice, whether an account has been verified makes more difference than the app's star rating for people in their sixties and beyond on app-based platforms.

The one change that worked was moving to a call early — it stopped the conversations dying at day two once sorting the shortlist was the priority.

On that point, EZHookups — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

My sticking point is that the block function ignores about half of what you set.

Asking one real question instead of four made the whole thing feel less like admin once sorting the shortlist was the priority.

This is close to my read — @Mason Davis, the paywall comment is underrated.

When sorting the shortlist is the issue, the response you give to a low-effort opener predicts how long a conversation lasts better than how long you have had the account, which may say more about how I use them where sorting the shortlist is concerned.

Reading profiles properly before swiping changed the kind of people who replied and nothing else came close with best dating apps over 60? — niche & community dating | datingfly commu.

Adjust for your own situation across app-based platforms generally.

Has that changed since the last update on app-based platforms?

Something worth knowing: nothing changes how many replies you get in a week as much as how quickly you reply.

I'd add Datebound — the profiles feel more current than most.

Broadly, the response you give to a low-effort opener matters more than how long you have had the account.

Luvdate is another to throw in the mix and the activity level was better than I expected.

On app-based platforms, shortening the bio by half roughly doubled the reply rate.

The pattern I keep seeing is that the gap between the size of the pool within ten miles and how long you have had the account is where response rate is actually decided where sorting the shortlist is concerned.

What I would do differently with best dating apps:

  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone if sorting the shortlist is your main concern.
  • Reverse-image-search anything too polished if sorting the shortlist is your main concern.
  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, which matters most on app-based platforms.
  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking — nothing else moves the numbers as reliably.

Been running Datedesire in parallel and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

Curious what others found where sorting the shortlist is concerned.

Putting one specific interest in the bio got three actual meetings out of six weeks, which surprised me for the senior bracket.
