Came to best free search dating sites? — free dating & apps | datingfly commun because a friend talked me into it, gave it nearly a year, and the pattern got clearer than expected.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that for ordinary users, the free tier rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest.

What I am actually trying to work out regarding working out which is worth the time:

  • Is that a regional thing for the average user?
  • Is that a regional thing if you are dealing with working out which is worth the time?
  • Is that a regional thing for ordinary users?
  • Has anyone had the reverse happen if you are dealing with working out which is worth the time?
  • Has anyone found the opposite for anyone in the average user?

Direct experience of this is what I'm after.

As far as I can tell, whether you actually read the profile beats which platform you picked, which might just be the average user for the average user.

The recurring problem is that the free tier collapses once you move outside a major city.

Has anyone compared the two directly on free-tier services?

On balance, for the average user, the size of the pool within ten miles tends to decide how many conversations survive past day three.

Deleting everything and starting over produced better matches within about ten days.

I read it the other way. @Mason Davis, the point about working out which is worth the time held for a fortnight then stopped.

What wore me down was that for ordinary users, the block function makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

For what it is worth, when working out which is worth the time is the issue, how often you open the app matters more than how long you have had the account where working out which is worth the time is concerned.

This is close to my read — @MikeD, the advice about calling early is the whole thing really.

The pattern I keep seeing is that when working out which is worth the time is the issue, whether you actually read the profile matters more than whether it has a swipe interface, though it varies enormously by city.

What actually frustrates me is that the onboarding boost seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking, especially once working out which is worth the time comes into it.

For ordinary users, picking one platform and sticking with it was the only change that showed up in the numbers.

Hope some of that helps across free-tier services generally.

Echoing this — @MikeD, the profile-quality point deserves more attention than it gets.

Leading with something slightly odd changed the kind of people who replied for ordinary users.

The size of the pool within ten miles explains more of the proportion of real accounts you see than the feature list ever did.

Hope some of that helps on the this whole area question.

Has that changed since the last update for ordinary users?

For ordinary users, picking one platform and sticking with it produced better matches within about ten days.

In practice, local activity levels is a better predictor of the proportion of real accounts you see than which platform you picked.

The one change that worked was dropping the filters — it roughly doubled the reply rate for the average user.

For the average user, the shortlist:

  • Tell a friend where you are going, particularly on free-tier services.
  • Say what you want in the first two lines, especially for ordinary users.
  • Never move money under any framing, particularly on free-tier services.

Seconding this — @Sophia Turner, the point about working out which is worth the time deserves more attention than it gets.

On balance, the gap between how long you leave a conversation running and the number of prompts you filled in is where match quality is actually decided for ordinary users.
