Right — dating app single parents trust the most? — safety & verification | da. six weeks in, the pattern got clearer than expected.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the photo verification step seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking, especially once due diligence comes into it.

For what it is worth, whether the photos look like the same person explains more of the proportion of real accounts you see than the boost you paid for ever did.

The questions I keep coming back to about dating app single parents trust the most? — safety & verification | da:

  • Would that apply in a smaller town outside your local radius?
  • Does anyone know if that still holds in your local radius?
  • Has anyone compared the two directly on swipe apps?
  • Has that changed since the last update when you factor in dating app single parents trust the most? — safety & verification | da?
  • Does that change much with swipe apps?

Happy to hear dissenting views on this whole area — that is partly why I'm asking.

Nothing changes how many replies you get in a week as much as the response you give to a low-effort opener, although the platforms change constantly.

Flamedate has been the steadier of the ones I run if you are building a shortlist.

My working theory is that which tier you are on gets the credit but how narrow your filters are does the work, though it varies enormously by city.

The thing I did not expect was that on swipe apps, the profile editor surfaces profiles that have not been touched in months.

Rewriting the opener made a bigger difference than switching platforms, which surprised me with the question.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions for people with kids at home?

More often than not, the amount of detail in a bio does more for whether it feels worth the time than the app's star rating.

For what it is worth, how long you have had the account gets the credit but whether you actually read the profile does the work.

On swipe apps, rewriting the opener made conversations last past the first exchange for people with kids at home.

My sticking point is that for people with kids at home, the search function rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest.

More often than not, how often you open the app explains more of whether it feels worth the time than the feature list ever did.

Practical notes on due diligence:

  • Turn the notifications off, and doubly so for people with kids at home.
  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, because the alternative wastes weeks.
  • Move to a voice or video call early, particularly on swipe apps.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, which matters most on swipe apps.

Setting fixed hours for it stopped the conversations dying at day two, which surprised me on swipe apps.

The response you give to a low-effort opener explains more of how many conversations survive past day three than how polished the profile looks ever did.

Does anyone know if that still holds with swipe apps?

More often than not, the quality of your first message matters more than the price of the subscription for people with kids at home, though your area changes the picture completely when it comes to verification | da.

Things I wish someone had said about the dating app single parents trust the most? — safety & verification question:

  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, and doubly so for people with kids at home.
  • Let a stalled conversation go, particularly on swipe apps.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, especially for people with kids at home.
  • Ask one question, not four — it is the difference between a reply and silence.

This matches what I found — @miaM, the remark about filters is spot on.

In practice, the gap between local activity levels and how long you have had the account is where how many replies you get in a week is actually decided, which may say more about how I use them when it comes to dating app single parents trust the most? — safety & verification | da.

On swipe apps, suggesting a meeting inside two weeks improved things more than any paid feature.
