Posting this after half a year on dating sites without payment have the best gender balance? — free dati — I still don't have a clean answer.

What wore me down was that on no-payment platforms, the free tier makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

What I am actually trying to work out regarding sorting the shortlist:

  • Has anyone compared the two directly when sorting the shortlist is the main worry?
  • Has anyone found the opposite outside wherever you happen to live?
  • Would that apply in a smaller town outside wherever you happen to live?
  • Has anyone had the reverse happen outside wherever you happen to live?

Any recent, first-hand input on dating sites without payment have the best gender balance? — free dati appreciated.

On no-payment platforms, reading profiles properly before swiping cut the wasted time by more than half once sorting the shortlist was the priority.

Where it falls down is that the distance filter collapses once you move outside a major city.

On balance, for most of us, how well a platform handles reports tends to decide whether it feels worth the time on no-payment platforms.

Has anyone found the opposite given sorting the shortlist?

The thing I didn't expect was that the free tier produces a template reply and closes the ticket, which is the real problem with no-payment platforms.

Has anyone compared the two directly if you are dealing with sorting the shortlist?

For what it is worth, the honesty of the bio is a better predictor of match quality than the number of photos you upload, though it varies enormously by city in the dating sites without payment have the best gender balance? — free dati context.

Picking one platform and sticking with it turned it from a chore into something workable, which surprised me.

Adding EZHookups to the list and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

For what it is worth, the amount of detail in a bio beats the app's star rating.

What actually held up on dating sites without payment have the best gender balance? — free dati:

  • Read the profile before you send anything — with this whole area this is the difference-maker.
  • Tell a friend where you are going — it is the one thing that transfers across every app.
  • Put something concrete in the opener, especially for the general run of people.
  • Tell a friend where you're going, especially for the general run of people.

I've had a decent run on Turndate and there is no paywall on the basics.

Respectfully, that isn't my read. @Ava Mitchell, the note on no-payment platforms may have been better luck than most get.

The detail that ruins it is that the match queue seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking, which is the real problem with no-payment platforms.

In practice, when sorting the shortlist is the issue, how consistently you show up predicts how satisfied you're after a month better than the app's star rating.

Is anyone getting different results where sorting the shortlist is concerned?

For what it is worth, how well a platform handles reports is a better predictor of whether anything reaches a first meeting than the marketing on the homepage for most of us.

Hope some of that helps on the question.

Echoing this — @Ava Mitchell, the remark about filters is exactly right.

Rewriting the opener produced better matches within about ten days and nothing else came close once sorting the shortlist was the priority.

For what it is worth, for most of us, the clarity of your main photo tends to decide how many replies you get in a week.

This matches what I found — @Mateo Harris, the note on no-payment platforms is the part people miss.

In practice, the gap between the amount of detail in a bio and the boost you paid for is where how many conversations survive past day three is actually decided.

Worth a look at Souldate as well — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.
