Been at this the last couple of months now, out of curiosity more than anything, and I'm less certain than when I started.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the support inbox produces a template reply and closes the ticket.

For what it is worth, the size of the pool within ten miles is a better predictor of the odds of a second date than how long you have had the account, although the platforms change constantly.

If you have opinions on fresh input on any dating apps that actually work for average guys? — free dating &am, especially unpopular ones, go ahead.

Is that still true for anyone in the average user?

The detail that ruins it is that the block function exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, especially once narrowing the options comes into it.

How quickly you reply is a better predictor of how satisfied you are after a month than how many matches you accumulate in the any dating apps that actually work for average guys? — free dating & a context.

What nobody mentions is that the recommendation engine shows the same faces on a loop, which is the real problem with zero-cost platforms.

Saying plainly what I was not after produced better matches within about ten days, which surprised me.

Boiled down, for anyone weighing up dating & a:

  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, which matters most on zero-cost platforms.
  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, because it is the single strongest signal you control.
  • Set a daily time limit if narrowing the options is your main concern.
  • Set a daily time limit if narrowing the options is your main concern.
  • Tell a friend where you are going, and doubly so for ordinary users.

On that point, Datelink and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

More often than not, the gap between the effort in the opening line and the total registered user count is where whether it feels worth the time is actually decided.

Things I wish someone had said about dating & a:

  • Set a daily time limit if narrowing the options is your main concern.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, particularly on zero-cost platforms.
  • Check when the account was last active, and doubly so for ordinary users.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, particularly on zero-cost platforms.

Still working it out across zero-cost platforms generally.

Cutting the match list right down roughly doubled the reply rate once narrowing the options was the priority.

More often than not, on zero-cost platforms, whether the photos look like the same person matters more than the price of the subscription.

Echoing this — @Ethan Parker, the remark about filters is spot on.

The one change that worked was leading with something slightly odd — it stopped the conversations dying at day two for ordinary users.

Is that a regional thing for anyone weighing up the question?

For what it is worth, the clarity of your main photo beats the boost you paid for for ordinary users when it comes to dating & a.

Interested if others landed elsewhere across zero-cost platforms generally.

Does that match what others see when you factor in this?

Where it falls down is that the recommendation engine turns into a shop window the moment someone matches, especially once narrowing the options comes into it.

For what it is worth, how narrow your filters are is a better predictor of whether it feels worth the time than the marketing on the homepage.
