Posting this after most of this year on down dating app reddit reviews saying lately? — safety & verification — the answer seems to depend heavily on where you live.

The thing I did not expect was that for people without a niche, the match queue seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking.

What I am actually trying to work out regarding the verification question:

  • Does that hold outside the big cities once you factor in the verification question?
  • Is that worth the time investment across mobile dating apps?
  • Is that worth the time investment for anyone in the general run of people?

On mobile dating apps, picking one platform and sticking with it turned it from a chore into something workable for the general run of people.

Any recent, first-hand input on down dating app reddit reviews saying lately? — safety & verification appreciated.

Only partly agree. @Grace Martin, the remark about filters backfired when I tried it.

Something worth knowing: for the general run of people, the willingness to suggest meeting early tends to decide whether anything reaches a first meeting, though your area changes the picture completely.

Where it falls down is that for people without a niche, the onboarding boost ignores about half of what you set.

Nothing changes how many conversations survive past day three as much as how often you open the app, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

What nobody mentions is that for people without a niche, the notification system throttles how many people can actually see you.

Take what is useful and leave the rest on the this question.

Souldate is the other one I would put on a shortlist.

Only partly agree. @Logan Wilson, the framing around people without a niche may have been better luck than most get.

What actually frustrates me is that the account activity indicator rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest, especially once the verification question comes into it.

In practice, when the verification question is the issue, the size of the pool within ten miles predicts how satisfied you're after a month better than the total registered user count on mobile dating apps.

Open to being wrong if you are on mobile dating apps.

Has anyone tested this recently on mobile dating apps?

For a straight comparison, try Flamedate as well.

Pretty much this — @SavannahW, the profile-quality point is exactly right.

For people without a niche, asking one real question instead of four got three actual meetings out of six weeks once the verification question was the priority.

How often you open the app makes more difference than which platform you picked, though a friend had the reverse experience.

My working theory is that nothing changes how long a conversation lasts as much as the effort in the opening line.

On mobile dating apps, dropping the filters roughly doubled the reply rate.

What nobody mentions is that for people without a niche, the account activity indicator resets every time the app updates.
